Skin rejuvenation can also be performed by injecting PRP into the skin. It is effective at improving the overall skin quality, including improvements in fine lines and skin texture. The following areas show great results with PRP:

  • Crepey Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Eye area
  • Textural improvement of the skin
  • Dull dry skin

Revitalize dry and dull-looking skin with platelet rich plasma treatment.

With its long and slightly futuristic-sounding name, Platelet Rich Plasma – or PRP – therapy is maybe one of the less renowned cosmetic treatments on offer to clients at Dr. Hussein Hashim clinic. However, it can be incredibly effective in fighting dry and tired-looking skin, eliminating lines and rough skin textures, and also improve the overall quality of your skin.

PRP techniques have been employed to promote wound healing in surgical procedures and sports injury treatments for years. You can experience the cosmetic benefits of this quick and effective treatment.

What does the PRP Treatment Involve?

The treatments are non-surgical procedures and are carried out with only minimal disruption to your busy life. At the beginning of the treatment, we will take a blood sample and use a centrifuge to separate the sample into distinct layers. We will then use a syringe to collect the top layer of the plasma – this layer is the richest in platelets – and then inject it into your skin, along with calcium chloride to promote growth and rejuvenation.

Different cases will require different sized blood samples. Usually, we will take a 50ml sample, but Dr. Hussein Hashim will inform you during your consultation if we need to take a larger sample.

Once injected into your skin, the platelets will secrete chemicals that slowly revitalize and refresh the skin over time.

Procedure time: Approximately 1 hour

Downtime: 48 hours post treatment

Where Can PRP Get the Best Results?

Cosmetic PRP treatments are usually used on the face, but the use of the technique in other types of surgery has proved that it is also effective and safe elsewhere.

Patients most commonly request PRP treatments on the neck, the upper breast, and cleavage area, around the eyes and on the cheeks or forehead.

How Long Will it Take?

Platelet Rich Plasma treatment is a completely non-surgical procedure that involves only a few injections. Because of the simple nature of the treatment, you can expect the process to be completed in less than 1 hour.

PRP treatment is also far gentler than other skin rejuvenation treatments, such as chemical peeling or dermabrasion. Most patients report a return to feeling completely normal after about 48 hours following the treatment. During the recovery period, you can expect to feel the same mild discomfort you might experience following a medical injection. If you have any pain or concerns following the treatment, get in contact with Shape Clinic right away.
