The muscles of the abdomen and their connecting fibers are then tightened and strengthened using stitches before the excess skin is removed.
The process will involve sedation under a general aesthetic, so the patient won’t feel a thing during the procedure. The Patient stays two nights in the hospital and needs ten days to go back to work. Following a tummy tuck patient needs to put a garment for six weeks.

The larger the abdominal weakness and the more there is excess skin ,the longer is the scar. Dr. Hussein Hashim usually puts the scar low in the abdomen at the pubic hair level .If the abdominal weakness is limited below the umbilicus (belly button) min-iabdominoplasty with short scar (10cm) is done, and in case of large abdominal weakness (apron belly) a long wound up to 30 cm is done.
All stretch marks below belly button are usually removed in the course of abdominoplasty. While the skin above the belly button is stretched down wards.
