If you want a more youthful and sensual-looking mouth, big lips are not the only option.

Lip Lift / Lip Eversion.

The Lip Lift or lip eversion is a procedure used to shorten the vertical height of the upper lip, improve the definition of the lip and cupid's bow and cause slight eversion of the lip giving a more appealing appearance.

This procedure is extremely successful in patients demonstrating lengthening of the upper lip with age.  More recently as upper lips are being over-injected, the Lip Lift has also become very useful to lighten the appearance of an over-injected, heavy appearing lip.

An additional benefit and a common reason patients seek this procedure is to increase central and/or lateral tooth show if the lip is covering too much of the upper teeth.

This procedure is easily done under local anesthesia without any pain at all.

More about Lip Lift.

The lip lift is a procedure that elevates the position of the upper lip with respect to the teeth, giving a broader smile. The amount of pink lip that is seen is also increased, giving the patient wider lips. The lips can also be made fuller with lip augmentation by injecting abdominal fat into the lips during the same surgical session. The overall effect of the lip lift is a more esthetically pleasing mouth with a youthful appearance.

How is the Upper Lip Lift performed?

Lip lift procedures are performed in the office under local anesthesia. Dr. Hussein Hashim performs the Upper Lip Lift by excising only skin at the base of the nose. Dr. Hussein Hashim does not cut muscles or nerves, as he believes that these facial elements should remain in their natural state.

An incision is placed directly beneath the nose and a small strip of skin and tissue is removed. The lip is elevated to its new position exposing about 1/8" of teeth and permanently increasing the volume of the pink part of the lip. The procedure takes about ninety minutes.

The result of the lip lift is a more youthful and pleasant shape to the mouth and lips. The teeth will show more and the patient almost always looks happier and relaxed.
